Wicked is back and hits the road with a new look for a brand new series! Lee smartens up his act to meet his mystery date and kick off proceedings at the iconic Wembley stadium for a night filled with glamour, glitz and stars. It's 'The Deaf Sports Personality of the Year Awards' - the first ever event to publicly recognise our Deaf sporting heroes!
Conceived by Richard Weinbaum, the idea came to him after watching the BBC's Sports personality of the Year Awards. Deaf sportsmen and women have often struggled for recognition, but tonight, their incredible achievements will be recognised as we settle down to a night of celebration for our sporting heroes. As Wembley opens it's prestigious doors, around 900 deaf sports fans join the glitz, our presenters mingle with the Nominees, watch the drama unfold and witness the nerves, tension and the speeches of the worthy winners
This is the first ever awards of its kind and over six months of careful planning went in to making sure every detail of the night goes to plan. We bring you exclusive footage from behind the scenes as the venue comes to life and Richard navigates the inevitable last minute hitches.
And finally we bring you the big one - the winner of Sports personality of the year! Not even the organisers know who will win as the audience will vote by text on the night. As the winner is revealed, the atmosphere is electric and we're there to capture the emotion and exclusive interviews.
