Where do you come from? I grew up in a tiny countryside village in Oxfordshire. I was the only deaf boy in the whole village! I got bored so I went to the small cinema in the village. The projectionist used to let me in for free - and he'd tell me the story - there were no subtitles in those days!

What are your hobbies? I wish I could say that I had a range of interesting hobbies, like travelling, painting or eating nice meals, but I'm afraid my only hobby is film! I could watch films every day of the week. But I work from Monday to Friday, so I watch films all day on Saturday and Sundays only. They're the best two days of my week.

What is it like to be Wicked's film doctor? I feel very lucky! The patients I meet every week are wonderful! They are annoying sometimes though, especially when they ask me for directions.

Do you enjoy watching yourself on TV? Yes, I love watching myself on TV! I often watch and think to myself - who's that handsome fellow?! I'm a very good looking man. I have no idea why I have been single for twenty years.

What's it like to work with Lilli and Nathan as your co-presenters? No comment. I mean...we don't get on I'm afraid. They like me, but I don't like them! Maybe I'm too old, from another generation. It's a shame. Luckily I don't have to meet them very often.

What's been the best experience you've had filming the series so far? I can't talk about one experience because it would be like saying one of my patients is my favourite - it would be unprofessional of me. Sorry.

What's the worst thing about presenting film reviews for Wicked? There is no such thing as 'worst'. It's been a pleasure!

What are your ambitions in the future? Where do you see yourself in ten years time? I would like to train the next generation of film doctors, so that long after I am dead, my legacy can continue. There should be a film doctor at every GP surgery in the UK, it's a scandal that I'm the only one.

What's your favourite part of Wicked? My part of course! The Appointment. It's the best bit by a mile!

How important is it that the programme is presented in BSL? Absolutely vital. Without BSL, how would the deaf audience get the full benefit of my genius?

Finally, tell us one fact about you that no-one knows... My favourite film is Bambi. The bit where she gets shot, it still makes me break down in tears. Tragic.
