More ward scenes today plus scenes in the toilet and storerooms. Went to look at the toilet - a big disabled loo with a shower - the only one big enough for filming purposes.
There's a problem: The toilet is flooded.
There's a solution: Producer finds mop and gets cracking!
I've worked with Hal Draper, Patsy Palmer and David Sands many times before and also with Debbie Norman who plays the Nurse. She was the 'mother' in Coming Out - Charlie Swinboune's last collaboration with Mutt and Jeff.
Hal and David are old friends and first acted together in Granddad - the Christmas drama, written by Billy Mager, which I directed for See Hear back in 2002. Patsy is playing Hal's wife - which she's done before in various dramas. They are all really focussed and professional...except that all three are smokers and every so often sneak off for a quick fag.
Hal is looking so well - his eyes are bright and he's got a golden tan - which is great - unless you're playing someone who has spent weeks in hospital with a terminal illness! Abby, our make up artist has to work really hard to make him look pale and sickly. She's brought a special make up palate called, 'Death Wheel' which, not surprisingly, does the trick.
