Film Diary: Departure Lounge

Day Five: 21st July

David

As the crew are based at my house today - I spent many hours last night cleaning the bathroom, living room, stairs and kitchen!

This was in addition to having to queue up yesterday morning and beg Camden Parking Services for all day parking permits for the crew. Despite me asking that as few people as possible drive here - 11 cars need all day tickets!

The final day of filming! All the scenes today are being filmed in Primrose Hill on the roof of a block of flats that is meant to be the roof of the hospital.

The view from the roof is spectacular and absolutely right for the drama. The hospital roof is meant to represent freedom, liberation, the wider view etc. This is where Sid and Matt have their conversations about a deaf heaven, about dying, about living life to the full, about taking responsibility and opportunities. It's perfect!

Wonderful location but not keen on the vertical ladder you need to climb to get onto the roof! However, once you're there - the view is just stunning. You can see across Regents Park towards the West End with the London Eye, Centre Point and the Telecom Tower all instantly recognisable. Further east are the skyscrapers of the city - the Doughnut and Canary Wharf amongst them.

It's finally over. We wrapped about an hour ago. Just before it before it started to rain. We had a quick glass of sparkling wine to celebrate and then everyone wanted to get home. The last person left ten minutes ago. THANK GOD! I'm whacked.

Louis

Just got home. Pleased to have completed the filming and pleased that things have gone so well. I really think we've got two excellent films. Now its up to the audience!
