BRUCE ALEXANDER (Frank) is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Superintendent Mullet in the television series A Touch of Frost - a part he first played in 1992. He has just completed filming the final episodes that will be shown on ITV1 in autumn 2009.
Bruce has acted with the RSC and in 2006 joined the National Theatre Company to play the Headmaster in Alan Bennett's award winning The History Boys. More recently he appeared there in The Reporter, as well as at the Almeida in Waste. On television he has been seen in Eastenders, Casualty, Midsommer Murders, Heartbeat and New Tricks. More recently he played Duff Cooper in the BBC/HBO film Churchill at War and Doctor Schmidt in A Short Stay in Switzerland. Bruce was a regular cast member of the BBC World Service radio drama Westway and he had a cameo role in the James Bond movie Tomorrow Never Dies.
Bruce was drawn to the part of Frank in Coming Home because, 'I liked the writing and the situation intrigued me. At the beginning it's easy to dismiss my character, Frank, as the oppressive, hearing villain of the piece but by the end things are not so clear cut. I liked that extra dimension to the role.'
