Scottish Deaf middle-distance runner, Lauren Peffers, is only 21 but has already represented Great Britain at the last two Deaflympics. At Taipei in 2009 and Melbourne in 2005 she brought home a Gold and Silver Medal. She currently competes in the 400m and 800m track races.
On the programe, Lauren tells us about her plans for the future and her preparations for the next Deaflympics at Athens in 2013.
Lauren was at school when she completed her first cross-country at the age of 9 which fired her passion for athletics. She later joined a club and has been running ever since! Like most athletes she has to juggle training with work and regularly competes in competitions in Scotland and beyond. Her coach Bill Walker describes her as a 'determined girl' and we're sure that her Scottish grit and determination will help her to more medal winning performances in the future.
